Should I have a separate page for every service I offer?
For your core, distinct services, yes — a separate page for "water heater repair" and a separate page for "drain cleaning" gives each one its own shot at ranking for the specific thing a customer is actually searching. One general "plumbing services" page competing for every keyword at once is much harder to rank than several focused pages.
Where it makes sense to split:
- Services people search for by name — "AC repair," "water heater installation," "panel upgrade"
- Services with genuinely different content — different process, pricing range, and FAQs
Where it doesn't make sense:
- Splitting near-identical tasks into thin pages with barely any unique content — "faucet repair" and "faucet replacement" can usually live on one solid page instead of two weak ones
- Creating a page just to have one, with no real content to fill it — a thin page can hurt more than help
A good rule: if you can write a genuinely useful, specific paragraph or two about a service that's different from your other pages, it deserves its own page. If you're just duplicating the same content with a different headline, combine them.
